EAST LANSING, Mich., Sept. 11, 2024 — A recent study by TechSmith Corporation highlights the evolving landscape of video content creation influenced by artificial intelligence (AI). While 75% of viewers are open to AI-assisted videos, 90% express concerns regarding content accuracy, quality, and origins.
Authenticity remains crucial, with 87% preferring videos featuring real people over AI avatars. The study emphasizes that video continues to dominate as the preferred medium for instructional content, with 83% of respondents favoring it.
The report also indicates a shift in viewer selection criteria; 54% choose videos based on descriptions that meet their needs, a notable increase from previous years. Interestingly, the most desired length for instructional videos is between 10-19 minutes, contradicting the trend towards shorter content.
Moreover, over 60% of viewers access videos via public sites like YouTube, while 66% watch such content weekly. Clarity and relatability in videos are paramount, with 57% of viewers prioritizing easy-to-follow content.
As AI technologies reshape video production, creators must balance innovation with viewer trust, ensuring content remains engaging and relevant.
