Regina to Host Can-Am Police-Fire Games in 2028

Regina, Saskatchewan, has been awarded the Can-AM Police-Fire Games, a multi-sport event scheduled for August 2028. This Olympic-style competition will feature thousands of athletes, primarily first responders from across North America, showcasing their athleticism and skills.

Mayor Sandra Masters expressed pride in the community’s support for first responders, emphasizing the significance of the games in fostering camaraderie and competition. The event will include various sports such as angling, cross-country running, cycling, and competitive shooting, alongside rigorous challenges like the Toughest Competitor Alive and Toughest Firefighter Alive competitions.

Bill Merryless, CEO of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games, highlighted Regina’s extensive experience in hosting sporting events, which was a key factor in the city’s selection. Multiple venues throughout the city will be utilized to accommodate the diverse range of competitions, ensuring an exceptional experience for athletes and spectators alike.
