NASA's Juno Spacecraft Completes 66th Flyby of Jupiter, Captures Stunning Images

On November 7, 2024, NASA's Juno spacecraft successfully completed its 66th flyby of Jupiter, delivering a wealth of clear and detailed photographs to scientists.

The spacecraft is equipped with a specialized two-megapixel camera, JunoCam, designed to study the dynamics of Jupiter's clouds and the surface features of its moons. Additionally, Juno carries other instruments, including a microwave radiometer for measuring water and ammonia content in Jupiter's atmosphere.

Originally planned for only 33 flybys, the Juno mission was extended beyond its initial 2017 conclusion, with an expected end date in September 2025. The spacecraft will not return to Earth; instead, it will be drawn into Jupiter's atmosphere due to the planet's gravity.
