In the same period last year, the temperatures were slightly higher, with lows of 10.6 degrees Celsius in 2023 and 11.5 degrees Celsius in 2022. The capital was enveloped in fog and chilly winds, with a maximum temperature reaching 27 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees below the seasonal average.
The humidity levels fluctuated between 80 percent and 64 percent throughout the day. The IMD has forecasted light fog for Friday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In addition to the cold weather, Delhi continues to struggle with severe air pollution, recording an average PM 2.5 level of 243.3 micrograms per cubic meter, representing a 19.5 percent increase in pollution levels week-on-week. A report from 'Respire Living Sciences' indicates that Delhi ranks last among 281 cities analyzed for air quality.
