Cyclone Alert and Rain Forecast in Chhattisgarh - October 22, 2024

Chhattisgarh has officially bid farewell to the monsoon season, yet the meteorological department has issued a rain alert. According to forecasts, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several districts across the state.

The cyclonic storm 'Dhana' is projected to make landfall on October 24, affecting the coasts of Odisha and West Bengal, which will also influence weather patterns in Chhattisgarh. Consequently, light to moderate rain may occur in certain areas over the next two days.

As per meteorological reports, the rainfall will be attributed to local weather systems. Following this, a noticeable drop in temperatures is anticipated, marking the onset of the 'pink cold' in the region. A decline in nighttime temperatures is expected, particularly in northern and southern Chhattisgarh.

After the monsoon's departure, many districts have begun experiencing intense heat and humidity, with temperatures in some cities surpassing 32 degrees Celsius. However, Raipur has witnessed a decrease in heat and humidity over the past three days.

Weather conditions in Raipur show overcast skies since morning, with intermittent sunshine maintaining a moderate climate. Residents have found some relief from the heat, although cooler appliances are still in use at night. The maximum temperature in the capital is projected to be around 32 degrees, with a minimum of 24 degrees.

When will the cold arrive? The meteorological department forecasts that the 'pink cold' will make its presence felt by the end of this month, leading to a continuous drop in temperatures. In the coming week, some parts of southern Chhattisgarh are also expected to experience cooler temperatures. Following Diwali, a noticeable chill is anticipated across all regions of the state, prompting an increase in demand for warm clothing in the markets, particularly in rural areas surrounding Raipur.
