TON Blockchain Integrates LayerZero for Cross-Chain Transfers, Accessing Billions of Telegram Users

Today, Layer-1 blockchain TON announced its integration with interoperability protocol LayerZero, enabling users to transfer funds across multiple ecosystems. This collaboration aims to boost usage and generate fees for both platforms. TON will initially connect to 12 blockchains, including Ethereum, Tron, and Solana. Users can transfer stablecoins to TON via Stargate, which handled $1.6 billion in volume last month, according to DefiLlama. LayerZero's multichain liquidity will reduce slippage and transaction failures. Tether and Ethena will also utilize the integration, with Ethena's $5 billion USDe asset launching on TON. Tether's USDT0 stablecoin will become transferable between TON, Tron, Ethereum, Celo, and Arbitrum. Developers can deploy tokens on TON from any LayerZero chain using a single contract. Telegram endorsed TON in September 2023 and integrated it into its user interface. Last month, TON became the exclusive blockchain for Telegram's mini apps ecosystem, potentially reaching nearly a billion users.
