Major Airlines Expand Routes to the Americas in 2024: New Connections to Brazil, Chile, and Canada

As the world continues to embrace travel, three major airlines—Air France, Turkish Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc—are set to enhance their services to the Americas starting in December 2024. This expansion introduces new routes to vibrant cities in Brazil, Chile, and Canada, promising more direct flight options and improved connectivity for travelers.

Air France is leading the charge with its new route to Salvador, Brazil, launching on October 28, 2024. Operating three times a week, this service will connect Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) with Salvador-Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport (SSA) using the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900. Salvador, known for its rich Afro-Brazilian heritage and colonial architecture, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a cultural hub that attracts tourists from around the globe.

In addition to the Salvador route, Air France plans to increase its service to Fortaleza, Brazil, to five times a week during the winter season, reflecting its commitment to expanding its presence in this vibrant country.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines is set to add Santiago, Chile, to its list of destinations, marking its ninth city in Latin America. This new route will be integrated into existing flights between Istanbul and São Paulo, allowing passengers to explore two major South American markets with one journey. Santiago, a financial hub surrounded by stunning natural beauty, offers travelers a gateway to renowned attractions like the Atacama Desert and Patagonia.

Royal Air Maroc is also making significant strides with the launch of a direct service between Casablanca and Toronto, Canada, commencing on December 8, 2024. Operating three times a week on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, this route aims to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Morocco and Canada, catering to the growing Moroccan diaspora and tourists eager to explore Morocco’s rich heritage.

These expansions reflect a broader trend in the aviation industry as airlines respond to the rising demand for both leisure and business travel. With enhanced connectivity and new destinations, travelers can look forward to exciting adventures in South America and beyond.
