Nvidia has introduced Digits, a personal AI supercomputer priced at $3,000, during CES 2025. Set for release in May 2025, Digits is designed to bring advanced AI capabilities directly to users' desktops, making it accessible to developers, researchers, and enthusiasts.

Equipped with the new Grace Blackwell GB10 chip, Digits offers performance of up to 1 petaflop with energy efficiency. It features 128 GB of unified memory and up to 4 TB of NVMe storage, allowing it to handle large AI workloads effectively.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated that Digits will democratize AI by placing a supercomputer on the desk of every data scientist and student, enabling them to engage with and shape the future of AI.

Digits can run large language models with up to 200 billion parameters, representing a significant shift for those previously reliant on costly cloud services. Users can develop and execute models locally before deploying them to cloud or data center infrastructure.

In addition, connecting two Digits machines allows users to run expansive models like Meta's Llama, which has 405 billion parameters, enhancing the experimentation capabilities for AI researchers.

Nvidia's initiative with Digits reinforces its leadership in the AI sector, as the company surpassed Apple and Microsoft to become the world's most valuable company in June 2024, with a market capitalization of $3.335 trillion.
