Participants of the BRICS summit have expressed their commitment to the successful conduct of COP29 in Azerbaijan, as stated in the Kazan Declaration adopted on October 23. The declaration emphasizes the expectation of meaningful results in climate financing for developing nations, which is seen as a crucial tool for implementing current and future nationally determined actions and goals related to mitigation, adaptation, and addressing loss and damage.
Additionally, BRICS countries have voiced their support for Brazil's leading role in organizing COP30 in 2025 and welcomed India's candidacy to host COP33 in 2028.
