Chinese multinational Chery has reported a 38.4% year-on-year increase in sales, surpassing 2.6 million vehicles. The company also noted a more than 50% rise in revenue, reaching approximately $65.47 billion, and a staggering 232.7% increase in electric vehicle sales, totaling over 583,000 units.

Chery continues to dominate the Chinese automotive market, exporting around 1.1 million vehicles and maintaining its position as the leading Chinese manufacturer for the 22nd consecutive year.

In Spain, Chery has reactivated the former Nissan factory in Barcelona, launching the Ebro S700 SUV and planning to produce the electric Omoda 5 this year. This follows a strategic industrial alliance with Ebro, leading to the establishment of joint ventures for SUV marketing and production.

Additionally, a joint R&D center in Barcelona is under consideration, mirroring Chery's existing facilities in Frankfurt. This collaboration aims to enhance the automotive value chain in Spain.

The Catalan government has also announced a €2.4 million loan to Ebro to support reindustrialization and job recovery at the Zona Franca plant.
