Norway is on track to become the first country to eliminate petrol and diesel cars from new sales, with electric vehicles (EVs) making up 88.9% of new car registrations. This marks a significant increase from 82.4% in the previous year.
Top-selling brands include Tesla, Volkswagen, and Toyota. Norway's favorable tax policies for EVs have played a crucial role in this transition, making electric cars more attractive compared to traditional fuel vehicles.
As of December, over 28% of all cars on Norwegian roads are fully electric. The country aims to only sell electric cars by 2025, with plans to increase charging infrastructure to match the growing EV market.
