The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for the class of 2025. The list includes 14 artists and bands, with eight appearing on the ballot for the first time. Among the first-time nominees are Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish. Returning nominees include Mariah Carey, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes. To be eligible, artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination and demonstrated a significant impact on the development of rock and roll. An international voting panel of over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry professionals will determine the inductees. Fan voting is also open until April 21. The inductees will be revealed in late April, with the induction ceremony scheduled to take place in Los Angeles this fall. In addition to the performer inductees, honorees will be selected in categories such as Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award.
