Kazhydromet has issued a weather forecast for Kazakhstan on December 5, highlighting a significant cold wave affecting various regions. In Astana, temperatures will plunge to between -14°C and -16°C at night, with daytime highs ranging from -4°C to -6°C. Light snow and drifting snow are expected throughout the day.

Almaty will experience milder conditions, with temperatures between -1°C and +5°C, as no precipitation is forecasted. Meanwhile, Shymkent will see temperatures from -2°C at night to +7°C during the day, accompanied by fog in the morning.

The Akmola region will face light snow in the west, north, and east, with temperatures dropping to as low as -18°C in southern areas. Winds will be brisk, blowing at speeds of 9-14 m/s.

Across the country, other regions such as the East Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan are also bracing for cold temperatures and potential snowstorms. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, temperatures will range from -7°C to -12°C at night, while Petropavlovsk can expect similar chilly conditions with snow.

This cold wave is expected to persist, with varying conditions across Kazakhstan, from light snow to icy conditions, affecting daily life and travel.
