From February 2 to 16, 2025, Corsica will celebrate World Wetlands Day with guided tours aimed at raising awareness about these vital ecosystems. This year's theme, 'Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future,' emphasizes the urgent need to preserve these essential spaces for climate balance, water management, and biodiversity.

The event kicks off on February 2 with a visit to the Palu pond in Ventiseri, a RAMSAR site managed by the Coastal Conservatory. Participants will explore the area’s diverse flora and fauna while learning about traditional fishing techniques.

On February 15, visitors can enjoy a friendly morning at the Urbinu pond in Ghisonaccia, starting with a complimentary breakfast at 8:30 AM, followed by a guided birdwatching tour on the Isula Longa peninsula. This visit is open to all without prior reservation, showcasing the ecological richness of this preserved site.

Finally, on February 16, nature enthusiasts can explore the Arasu site, located north of Porto-Vecchio, known for its tranquil paths through dunes, ponds, and forests. Guided tours will be available by reservation.

On the same day, another visit to Lozari will allow participants to discover the biodiversity of the di u Reginu river, another pristine area of the island.
