Ludhiana: A transformative three-day nature camp, 'Enviro Venture', organized by Khalsa College for Women (KCW) in collaboration with SOCH, an environmental NGO, has left students with unforgettable memories and a renewed appreciation for flora and fauna.
Held in Kalar-Tibba, Nangal, under the environmental education program of the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, the camp featured activities such as trekking, bird watching, and hands-on exploration of local ecosystems. Participants engaged in 'wild art' and learned about wildlife conservation, all while immersed in the natural beauty of Barota Farms.
Dr. Balwinder Lakhewali from SOCH emphasized the camp's goal: to instill a love for nature and the importance of conservation through enjoyable, educational experiences. Students reported that witnessing the rescue of a python and observing various bird species up close were highlights of the camp.
Many students expressed a desire for similar camps to be held in schools and colleges across the region, believing that such experiences could foster a deeper connection with the environment among young people.
