US House Speaker to Stick with 'One Big Bill' Strategy for Tax Cuts and Border Funding

This comes despite a limited $340 billion budget plan unveiled on Friday by Senate Republicans. Johnson emphasized that securing Republican consensus within the party's thin House majority will take time, but he believes they will find savings to offset the cost of extending 2017 tax cuts and other priorities, such as excluding tip income from taxation. He believes this approach offers the highest probability of success in delivering on campaign promises.
