The deployment includes snipers and anti-riot units, remaining in place until October 23. Military drills involving thousands of personnel are ongoing at key locations, including the National Monument complex.
The military chief, Agus Subianto, emphasized the need for heightened security due to potential threats surrounding the inauguration. The Indonesian Air Force will also deploy F-16 jets to secure airspace for foreign dignitaries attending the event.
