Vietnam's Hyphen Deux Partners with Global Tech Firms to Enhance AI in Smart Cities

Hyphen Deux, a Vietnamese semiconductor design company, has signed a strategic partnership with Arm Korea Ltd and CoAsia SEMI in Ho Chi Minh City to advance AI applications in smart city solutions.

The project aims to improve video surveillance and image recognition systems, enhancing traffic coordination.

CEO Bùi Duy Khánh announced the development of a dedicated AI chip that analyzes real-time data from traffic cameras to identify hazardous situations like accidents and traffic violations. This system aims to respond promptly, improve traffic management efficiency, and optimize urban resource usage.

Arm Korea's president, SW Hwang, emphasized the commitment to support Vietnam in AI development, including workforce training and partnerships with companies like Hyphen Deux.

CoAsia SEMI's CEO, Shin Dong Soo, expressed optimism that their collaboration will yield advanced technological solutions for smart cities in Vietnam and the region.

Globally, AI is transforming transportation, reducing personal car ownership, and promoting public transport to alleviate congestion and pollution. Countries like Singapore and South Korea are leveraging AI to enhance their traffic infrastructure.

In this context, Nguyễn Trung Chính, chairman of CMC Technology Group, proposed that Ho Chi Minh City become a global AI hub, asserting that effective AI application could boost Vietnam's GDP by up to 14% by 2030.
