Huawei Unveils AI-Centric Solutions at UBBF 2024 to Drive Network Growth

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Nov. 3, 2024 — At the Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF) 2024, Huawei leaders highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming communication networks.

Bob Chen, President of Huawei's Optical Business Product Line, announced the development of an AI-centric F5.5G all-optical network, emphasizing that AI is becoming integral to various industries. Over 1,300 foundation models are already in use across sectors, enhancing functionalities in mobile devices, PCs, and automobiles.

Chen noted that carriers are shifting towards becoming AI all-service providers, necessitating robust infrastructure with high network bandwidth and low latency. Huawei's innovations in optical transmission and access aim to support this transition, with over 50 global carriers implementing optical switching to improve network efficiency.

Meanwhile, Leon Wang, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, introduced the Xinghe Intelligent Network Solution, designed for the Net5.5G era. This solution enhances user experience and service monetization while addressing the challenges posed by increasing data traffic.

Wang highlighted that the solution's capabilities include premium experience assurance, ultra-reliable transport networks, efficient intelligent computing, and AI-driven security measures. These advancements are already in commercial use by 40 carriers worldwide, driving significant revenue growth and operational efficiency.

As AI continues to evolve, Huawei aims to collaborate with industry partners to fully integrate AI capabilities into communication networks, fostering new business opportunities in the intelligent era.
