Christie Brinkley's Memoir 'Uptown Girl' Promises to Detail Tumultuous Marriages and Near-Fatal Crash

Supermodel Christie Brinkley has announced she will be publishing a memoir titled "Uptown Girl," a nod to her ex-husband Billy Joel's iconic 1983 song. The memoir, set to be released on April 29, will delve into Brinkley's whirlwind career, her four marriages, including her divorce from Joel, and a harrowing helicopter crash that nearly ended her life.

Brinkley, 71, and Joel, 75, were married from 1985 to 1994 and share a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel. In her statement, Brinkley explained her desire to inspire readers to create the life they want, emphasizing that it's achievable not through fortune or fame, but by embracing adventure and finding magic in every moment.

Despite the memoir's description of their breakup as "heartbreaking," Brinkley and Joel have maintained a friendship. They were seen together at the opening night of "Chicago" on Broadway in 2011, when Brinkley starred as Roxie Hart. In a 2014 interview, Brinkley said, "I've always adored him. I just couldn't live with him anymore."

Brinkley's other marriages were to French artist Jean-François Allaux (1973-1981), real estate developer Richard Taubman (1994-1995), and architect Peter Halsey Cook (1996-1998). She also dated singer John Mellencamp from 2015 to 2016.
