Mouvements Festival Explores Art and Ecology Through Dance

The second edition of the Mouvements festival transcends artistic forms around dance to better interrogate our relationship with the environment. Running until October 19, this festival once again serves as a crossroads for contemporary dance and live performance, thanks to the fruitful collaboration of four local structures: Act'en Scène, Les Bazis, Les Théâtrales en Couserans, and Pollen Production.

These associations, pillars of the live performance sector at the ADECC (Cultural Economy Development Agency), unite to offer a program that invites dialogue between contemporary dance, physical expression, and other artistic forms. Major artists in this edition, such as Héloïse Desanges and Antoine Raimondi, explore our connections to the environment and ecological transition through striking creations.

This eco-artistic thread is at the heart of the festival's vision, which seeks to highlight contemporary issues while encouraging engagement from artists and the public around intergenerational dialogue. One of the unique aspects of Mouvements is its openness beyond the usual boundaries of dance, exploring connections between this discipline and other art forms such as theater, music, visual arts, and cinema.

Artists like Samir Kennedy with The Arching and Claire Lamothe with 'A More' are among those expanding the horizons of dance with singular and captivating performances. These creations will be presented in various often surprising locations, allowing for connections between different territories.

The festival also offers an accessible and inclusive program, with workshops introducing contemporary dance and performances aimed at young audiences. With this second edition, Mouvements continues its ambition to resonate contemporary dance in hearts and minds while grounding its actions in a dynamic of collaboration and sharing, inviting spectators to be swept away by movement.
