Ahmedabad: A well-marked low-pressure area over the east-central Arabian Sea is expected to bring light to sporadic heavy rainfall to several parts of Gujarat on Monday. On Sunday, 69 talukas recorded 1mm or more of rainfall, although Ahmedabad itself experienced cloudy weather without significant precipitation.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Ahmedabad's maximum temperature reached 31.7 degrees Celsius, which is 4.3 degrees lower than normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, 2.7 degrees higher than usual. Similar temperature ranges are expected on Monday, with some areas likely to receive light rains.
According to the IMD forecast, heavy rainfall is anticipated in parts of Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Junagadh, Porbandar, and Gir Somnath. Other districts, including Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, may experience light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
On Sunday, Bhuj recorded 57mm of rainfall, while Bodeli, Chhota Udepur, and Jhagadia in Bharuch each received 55mm. In total, five talukas experienced over 50mm of rainfall by 6 PM.
