Pentagon Reports 757 New UFO Encounters in 2024, Including Close Call Over New York

A commercial airline experienced a "near miss" with a UFO over the Atlantic Ocean, just off New York's coast, according to a recent Pentagon report. The incident involved a "cylindrical object" and was reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

This New York encounter is the only recorded incident indicating a "possible flight safety issue". The All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) continues to investigate this case.

Between May 2023 and June 2024, AARO logged 757 new UFO reports, including 485 from that period and 272 previously unreported cases from 2021 and 2022. Among these, 18 incidents occurred near U.S. nuclear sites.

The report highlights that 49 incidents took place at altitudes exceeding 100 kilometers, entering the edge of space. Notably, 10 of the reported Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) flew over protected areas for less than five minutes, while two had longer flight durations of 53 minutes and 1 hour 57 minutes.

Despite the increase in reports, AARO could not explain over 20 UAP sightings in the past year, with director Dr. Jon Kosloski acknowledging the complexity of certain cases. However, no evidence of extraterrestrial beings or technology has been discovered.
