The Eco Días project, launched by Fundación Caja Rural de Granada, aims to connect residents with nature while promoting environmental conservation. Since its inception in 2023, the initiative has hosted a variety of activities, including guided tours of stunning landscapes and environmental volunteer work.
In October, the program resumed with over 140 participants engaging in activities such as reforestation in Parque de Las Canteras, where volunteers planted native species like holm oaks and lavender. Additionally, efforts were made to enhance ecosystems in the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park, crucial for local wildlife, particularly endangered dragonflies and amphibians.
Recent activities included the construction of insect hotels and birdhouses in the Cartuja Campus area, contributing to local biodiversity. Upcoming events scheduled from January to May include visits to significant natural sites and further volunteer opportunities.
Fundación Caja Rural Granada continues to update its website with information on upcoming events, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability and environmental improvement.
