Rare Porsche 911 S/T Auctioned for Wildfire Relief, Expected to Fetch Staggering Sum

A rare Porsche 911 S/T, one of only 1,963 built, is being auctioned off by Porsche Cars North America to benefit the American Red Cross and wildfire relief efforts in California. The car, number 1,919, is from PCNA's internal fleet and the only one in the US not yet assigned to a customer. RM Sotheby's is handling the auction, waiving their fees. The 911 S/T boasts a screaming 4.0-liter flat-six engine with 518 hp and a six-speed manual transmission. Finished in Shore Blue Metallic with a Heritage Design package, it features Ceramica-finished wheels and '60' motifs celebrating the 911's 60th anniversary. The car has 956 miles on the clock, meticulously run in by a team in Stuttgart. Originally priced at $290,000, similar models are now selling for over $450,000 in Europe. The winning bidder will also receive a custom Porsche Design timepiece and a signed owner's manual pouch from Andreas Preuninger, Director of Porsche's GT model line. The auction is expected to raise a significant amount for wildfire relief.
