This Christmas, a group of lucky dogs in Merseyside are enjoying a day filled with festive cheer at a luxury daycare center. While many families gather for holiday feasts, dog owners often face unique challenges during this season. Rebeckah Vaughan, a former Big Brother contestant, runs No More Kennels, a dog hotel that aims to ease these concerns.
Open every day of the year, No More Kennels is one of the UK’s most luxurious dog care facilities. On Christmas morning, dogs are treated to a special celebration where they can truly live their best lives. The festivities include a festive meal, gift-giving, and plenty of games.
Rebeckah shared, “We have 90 dogs booked in on Christmas Day, which means preparing 90 special Christmas dinners. However, we learned that traditional holiday meals didn’t sit well with our pups’ sensitive tummies. This year, we’re serving fresh chicken or white fish—simple, nutritious, and delicious.”
The holiday fun starts early at 7 AM, with dedicated staff ensuring each dog enjoys their special lunch. Many pet owners leave presents for their furry friends, and the caring nannies help unwrap the gifts to make sure every pup feels included in the celebrations.
The highlight of the day arrives at noon when “Santa Paws” makes a grand entrance, bringing a sack full of treats for the pups. Rebeckah emphasized, “Our Christmas celebrations are about making the day special for the dogs. We know how much they mean to their parents, and we’re honored to provide them with a magical experience filled with love and fun.”
Rebeckah started this venture in 2008 to give rescue dogs a place to be pampered. She expressed, “There’s nothing better than spending the big day with the dogs we’ve come to know and love. It’s a joy to see them happy and enjoying the festivities just as much as we do.”
