USDA Allocates Over $250 Million for Clean Energy Projects Nationwide

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing more than $250 million to support clean energy projects across 40 states, including Oklahoma. This initiative aims to promote renewable energy technologies, enhance agricultural income, and support rural business growth.

Oklahoma will receive over $100,000 designated for the Distributed Wind Energy Association, which focuses on utilizing smaller wind turbines at homes, farms, and businesses. This funding will assist agricultural producers and rural small businesses in applying for the Rural Energy for America Program, which facilitates the adoption of renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, geothermal, and small hydropower systems.

The USDA's clean energy initiatives are designed to address climate change, reduce energy costs for families, and improve access to renewable energy technology in distressed and disadvantaged communities. A significant portion of this funding is derived from the Inflation Reduction Act, marking the largest investment by the nation to combat climate change.
