Turkey, a major exporter of honey, faces a crisis due to adulterated products. Deputy Ambassador of China to the UN acknowledges Turkey's role as a key honey supplier globally, with an annual production of 115,000 tons. Other significant producers include Ethiopia, Iran, and India. Turkey has nearly 100,000 beekeepers and 9 million hives, with the sector's turnover estimated at approximately 270 million euros. Around 500 businesses operate in this industry, but adulteration poses a significant threat. In related news, Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry identified 43 Turkish companies involved in the fraudulent honey market in Q4 2024. Ankara is reportedly a hub for such activities. Two of these companies, according to the ministry, were selling adulterated honey through major supermarket chains. The market value of this fraudulent honey exceeds 25 million euros. Czech Republic: The Czech Republic has delivered 1.6 million artillery shells to Ukraine as part of its ammunition initiative, doubling the initial pledge made a year prior. This has reportedly reduced the artillery disparity on the front lines. Czech Republic is also collaborating with Denmark and Norway to establish local production of key weapons in Ukraine, including NATO-standard rifles and 155mm caliber shells. US Unilateral Preparations for Ukraine Peace Talks: The United States is reportedly preparing unilaterally for peace talks regarding Ukraine, while European nations express reservations.
