Intense Drone Warfare Escalates Between Russia and Ukraine on January 11, 2025

On January 11, 2025, a significant escalation in drone warfare between Russia and Ukraine was reported. Russia claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones targeting six regions, including Crimea and the Black and Azov Seas. The governor of Tambov, Yevgeny Pervishov, confirmed that several drones struck residential buildings in Kótovsk, resulting in injuries from shattered glass.

In response, Ukraine's Air Force reported that it downed 47 out of 74 Russian drones launched overnight. The drones used in these attacks included Shahed models and other types. The Ukrainian military indicated that the attacks affected multiple regions, including Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv.

The Zaporizhia regional military administration reported that the attack targeted a civilian vehicle, which was carrying five individuals at the time.

Throughout the day, Russian forces reportedly conducted 377 strikes across 15 locations in the Zaporizhia region, deploying a combination of drones and aircraft. Damage from falling drone debris was noted in seven Ukrainian regions, affecting agricultural buildings and private properties.
