Sidus Space Unveils LizzieSat-2: A Modular Satellite with Advanced Sensor Technology for Global Data Services

Sidus Space has announced the upcoming launch of LizzieSat-2, developed at its advanced facility on Florida's Space Coast. This satellite integrates a comprehensive suite of sensors, including AIS for maritime tracking, multi-spectral methane detection, and high-resolution visual sensors. A standout feature is the HEO Holmes Imager, a sophisticated technology provided by HEO, a subsidiary based in Australia. This imager powers the HEO Inspect platform, which is designed for in-orbit satellite inspections and precise analysis of space objects.

Under a subscription agreement, LizzieSat-2 will supply data to HEO, marking a significant step in Sidus Space's expansion into space-based data services. The satellite is powered by Sidus Space's proprietary FeatherEdge AI processor, enabling on-orbit data processing for applications such as Space Situational Awareness (SSA), environmental monitoring, disaster response, maritime tracking, and non-Earth imaging.

Carol Craig, CEO of Sidus Space, stated, "LizzieSat-2 represents the next evolution of our modular satellite platform, showcasing its adaptability to host both Sidus-developed sensors and customer payloads, such as the HEO Holmes Imager. This milestone highlights our commitment to delivering innovative, flexible, and cost-effective solutions that address the diverse and evolving needs of our customers. We are excited to expand our on-orbit presence and delivery of critical, near real-time data services."

The launch of LizzieSat-2 enhances Sidus Space's capability to provide scalable and actionable space-based data solutions. By combining advanced sensor technology, efficient on-orbit processing, and data-as-a-service capabilities, the satellite supports crucial applications across defense, government, intelligence, and commercial sectors globally.
