Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Vietnam - On December 2, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced that by 2026, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) should master all offshore wind energy development technologies, establishing a robust renewable energy industry.

This statement was made during a series of events focused on offshore wind energy at the PTSC Industrial and Technical Logistics Energy Center in Vung Tau.

In light of climate change, offshore wind energy is recognized as a sector with significant development potential. Since 2019, Petrovietnam and its subsidiaries, including the PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), have been researching clean energy development, concentrating on gas, hydrogen production, and offshore wind.

Petrovietnam is building a strong national supply chain, leveraging its subsidiaries such as PTSC, Vietsovpetro, and PETROCONS to enhance the renewable energy value chain, improve cooperation, and explore opportunities in both domestic and international projects.

PTSC has achieved significant milestones in providing offshore wind energy services to national and international contractors, reaffirming Petrovietnam's capabilities in this industry.

Based on these efforts, Petrovietnam aims to become Vietnam's leading industrial and energy group, with robust financial and technological capacity and competitiveness in the region and globally.

During the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates symbolically inaugurated several projects undertaken by PTSC.
