November 26, 2024, Spain - The Canary Islands inaugurated its first eco-electrolinera in Sardina del Sur, Gran Canaria, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy. This facility is entirely powered by photovoltaic energy and operates independently from the conventional electrical grid.
Key details include:
250 photovoltaic panels and 120 storage batteries, providing over 500 kW of charging power.
Two superchargers capable of charging up to four vehicles simultaneously in 15 to 20 minutes.
Proprietary software for monitoring vehicle charge history, enabling carbon footprint certification.
The project is endorsed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. Local officials emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in promoting electric vehicle adoption and sustainable mobility.
The Taro service station, which opened in 2003, aims to expand its self-consumption capabilities to 24 hours, enhancing its commitment to a carbon-neutral operation.
