University of Derby Launches Unique AI and International Business Degree with Rolls-Royce

The University of Derby, in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, is launching a two-year degree program focused on international business and artificial intelligence (AI), set to begin in September 2025.

The BSc (Hons) International Business and AI program aims to equip students with essential skills for the evolving job market, addressing industry demand for expertise in AI applications within global business contexts.

Dr. Mustabsar Awais, Course Leader, emphasized the importance of preparing graduates to navigate the challenges posed by AI's impact on traditional business models. The curriculum will cover topics such as big data management and business analytics, offering real-world learning experiences through partnerships with Rolls-Royce.

The initiative builds on the existing collaboration between the university and Rolls-Royce, which includes projects like the Nuclear Skills Academy. Dr. Nicola Lynch, Head of Derby Business School, highlighted the university's commitment to developing talent that meets global business needs.

Stuart Evans from Rolls-Royce expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting the program's potential to combine innovative learning with practical skills essential for success in today's workforce.

The new degree is part of a broader offering from the University of Derby, which will also include programs in Business Management, Marketing Management, and Sustainable Practice.
