Tesla has officially launched the Full Self-Driving (FSD) v13.2.1 update for vehicles equipped with its Hardware 4 (HW4) computers. CEO Elon Musk described the update as one that will 'blow your mind.'
This release follows a series of delays and a previous limited rollout of v13.1, which lacked key enhancements. Tesla's head of self-driving, Ashok Elluswamy, confirmed that the update is now widely available for HW4 customers, with an additional holiday software update expected soon.
Despite earlier promises, Tesla has not provided the same capabilities to HW3 owners, who are now awaiting an updated version 12.6 by the year's end. The company has reportedly reached the limits of the HW3 computer, hindering its progress toward unsupervised self-driving capabilities.
While improvements have been made over the years, the technology remains a work in progress, with Musk's past claims of achieving full autonomy still unfulfilled.
