WAISL Unveils AI-Powered Airport Operations Center in India

WAISL Limited has developed an AI-driven Airport Operations Command Center (APOC) utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance airport efficiency and passenger experience. This digital twin solution will be implemented at a major Indian airport within weeks, with plans for international launch in 2025.

The APOC integrates data from over 40 systems, providing real-time monitoring and insights across airport operations, from check-in to traffic control. It aims to address airport congestion, which affected nearly 80 million travelers in the first half of 2024, by offering updates on flight details, wait times, and personalized suggestions for passengers.

According to WAISL, the system can predict demand and disruptions using advanced AI and machine learning algorithms, addressing over 250 use cases and tracking more than 100 performance indicators. This comprehensive approach aims to prevent delays and optimize resource allocation.

Pankaj Gupta, Leader of Public Sector at AWS India, emphasized the importance of this technology in enhancing air travel innovation. Rishi Mehta, President and CEO of WAISL, highlighted that the strategic application of technology is key to overcoming operational challenges in the digital age.
