Ukraine's MMA Team Shines at 2024 Championships

Ukraine's mixed martial arts (MMA) team has achieved remarkable success at the recent championship held in Tashkent, securing third place overall among adults and youth. The event featured over 500 athletes from 67 countries, showcasing a high level of competition.

Among the standout performers, Maria Klein clinched the gold medal in the women's category up to 61.2 kg, while Anastasia Horodivska and Ivan Poremychuk earned silver in their respective weight classes. The bronze medals were awarded to several Ukrainian athletes, including Ivanna Skuba and Yana Shelemba.

The adult division also saw impressive results, with Anna Hyria, Ivan Kurelaru, and Bohdan Cherepanya taking home gold medals in their categories. Notably, Bohdan Voloshin secured a silver medal in the men's up to 79.4 kg category.

The championship concluded with a ceremony recognizing the best athletes, federations, and officials in amateur MMA. Ukrainian athlete Yana Shelemba was honored as the Best Young Athlete of 2024, highlighting her exceptional performance and contribution to the sport.
