A significant snow system is forecasted to impact western and central Europe, as reported by Severe Weather. The cold front is expected to convert rain into snow from late Saturday to early Sunday, affecting areas from northern Italy to the Alps.

Heavy snowfall is anticipated across various regions, including northern Britain, the Iberian Peninsula, the Alpine region, the western Balkans, and central Europe. Additional snow accumulation is expected in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

Over the next five days, snow will accumulate throughout the Alps, extending from southeastern France to Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. As the system weakens and moves southward on Monday, snowfall will also develop along the Dinaric mountain range in the western Balkans.

By early next week, snow accumulation is likely in southern Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. A cold weather pattern established between a large high-pressure block over the Atlantic and a deep cyclone over central Europe will maintain cold conditions in southwestern Europe until mid-next week, with the coldest anomalies expected on Tuesday and Wednesday. Daytime temperatures will be significantly below average in Spain, Portugal, and France.

In Serbia, the weather forecast for Sunday (December 8) indicates dry conditions in the morning, followed by cloud cover and rain from the Adriatic in the afternoon, first affecting western and southern regions. Rain and snow will occur in mountainous areas. A moderate to strong southeast wind will blow in the Košava region, with gusts reaching storm strength in southern Banat.
