On the night of December 14, 2024, residents of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, reported witnessing multiple unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). Videos circulating on social media show bright, moving lights in the night sky, sparking curiosity and concern among locals.
Witness accounts describe the lights as stationary for approximately 30 minutes, with some forming triangular patterns. One resident exclaimed, “They are here! Just look at the sky!” suggesting the objects were not fireworks or balloons.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has yet to comment on the sightings. In 2023 alone, pilots reported around 30 UAP sightings to the Aeronautics Command, predominantly in southern Brazil.
This incident follows a series of similar reports in the United States, where unidentified drones have been spotted over residential areas, prompting federal agencies to investigate.
As of now, the origin and nature of the lights remain unexplained, fueling speculation about extraterrestrial life and the potential for advanced aerial technology.
