Travelers seeking a sun-soaked getaway to Bulgaria's Black Sea coast now have exciting new flight options. Beginning in May, Electra Airways will introduce direct services from Cologne Bonn Airport to two of Bulgaria's most popular seaside destinations—Varna and Burgas. This move caters to both leisure and cultural travelers, making it easier to explore the stunning coastline.
The first service, connecting Cologne Bonn with Varna, will commence on May 17, with flights departing every Tuesday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the Burgas route is set to launch on May 19, with departures scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays. Both flights will offer a convenient journey of approximately two and a half hours.

'This new partnership enriches our flight schedule and offers our passengers additional travel options.'
Varna, known as Bulgaria's 'Sea Capital,' boasts pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a rich historical heritage. One of its standout attractions is the Archaeological Museum, home to the world's oldest known gold treasure. Visitors can also marvel at the city's architectural gem, the Assumption Cathedral, or take a relaxing stroll along the picturesque seafront promenade.
Burgas, another coastal jewel, blends relaxation with cultural appeal. The city's extensive beaches and lively center make it an inviting destination for sun-seekers and explorers alike. A highlight of Burgas is its renowned Sea Garden, a vast and beautifully landscaped park stretching along the coastline, perfect for leisurely walks and panoramic sea views.
Electra Airways will operate these flights using an Airbus A320 in partnership with SunExpress. While Electra Airways provides the aircraft and crew, SunExpress will handle route planning and ticket sales.
With these new connections, travelers from Germany can now enjoy even greater accessibility to Bulgaria's stunning coastline, making it easier than ever to explore the country's rich history and scenic beauty.
