The beloved graphic novels of Dog Man, a children's literary phenomenon with over 70 million books sold worldwide, are making their way to the big screen. DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures are bringing this unique story to life.

The animated feature is directed by Emmy winner Peter Hastings, known for his work on Kung Fu Panda: The Legend of Po and The Epic Adventures of Captain Underpants.

Dog Man's adventures begin when a loyal police dog and his human partner suffer serious injuries while on duty. They are saved through a wild operation that fuses them into one unique being.

This new hero vows to protect and serve, but he also knows how to fetch, sit, and shake paws! Dog Man embraces his new identity and strives to please his boss, all while facing the evil plans of the feline supervillain Petey, who aims to clone himself to create a kitten named Lil'Petey, doubling his chances for mischief. Things get complicated when Lil'Petey and Dog Man unexpectedly become friends.

“Dog Man, the masterpiece by Dav Pilkey, started in 2016 and has been published in 45 languages. It features a character who fights crime while struggling with his funny canine instincts,” says Sandra Cortez, marketing manager of Andes Films, the distributor in Bolivia. She adds that Dog Man's adventures promise to immerse viewers in a world where comedy, adventure, and action blend with Pilkey's storytelling magic, offering an epic canine tale of 94 entertaining minutes, starting Thursday, January 30.
