Oman to Launch Major Animal Vaccine Factory on January 28, 2025

Muscat - Khazaen Economic City has announced the establishment of a factory for the production of animal vaccines, set to open on January 28, 2025. This project, backed by an investment exceeding RO15 million, aims to enhance Oman’s role in regional veterinary medicine and bolster food security.

The agreement was signed by Salem bin Sulaiman al Dhahli, CEO of Khazaen Economic City, and Dr. Mamdouh Aqeed, CEO of Technology Medical and Educational Supplies Company. The factory will occupy 10,000 square meters and is designed to produce up to 2 billion vaccines annually, catering to both local needs and export markets.

According to a press release, the initiative aspires to position Oman as a leading global producer of veterinary vaccines while supporting biosecurity programs for animal health within the sultanate. The project is anticipated to significantly enhance the region's food security by ensuring livestock health and improving veterinary care standards.
