Hamas Resumes Hostage Release Under Ceasefire Agreement with Israel

Hamas has confirmed it will continue releasing hostages as part of the ceasefire agreement with Israel, following a temporary suspension due to disagreements over the terms of the pause in fighting.

The group stated that it would adhere to the signed agreement regarding prisoner exchanges according to the established timetable. Mediators from Egypt and Qatar are reportedly working to address remaining issues and facilitate the entry of additional aid, supplies, and medical equipment into Gaza.

As part of the ceasefire, Hamas has released 16 hostages, while Israel has released 656 Palestinian prisoners. The current phase of the ceasefire is set to expire at the end of the month, with further negotiations pending.
