Bank Indonesia Commits to Stabilizing Rupiah Amid High US Interest Rates

Bank Indonesia has announced its commitment to stabilize the rupiah in response to the ongoing pressure from high US policy rates affecting emerging markets. The central bank is actively engaging in interventions across various markets, including spot and domestic non-deliverable forward markets, as well as the bond market.

Edi Susianto, the director for monetary and asset securities management at Bank Indonesia, emphasized the importance of maintaining currency stability during these challenging economic conditions. This move aims to mitigate the adverse effects of external financial pressures on the Indonesian economy.
