Elon Musk's xAI has unveiled Grok 3, the latest iteration of its AI model, positioning it as a strong competitor to OpenAI's GPT-4o and Google's Gemini. Trained on a massive scale using 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, Grok 3 showcases enhanced reasoning capabilities and outperforms its rivals in specific benchmarks, including math and PhD-level science questions.
Grok 3 introduces a reasoning model that "thinks" before answering, offering improved accuracy. Users can activate a "big brain" mode for complex tasks in math, science, and coding. Paired with DeepSearch, Grok 3 analyzes the internet and X to provide detailed responses. A smaller version, Grok 3 mini, offers quicker outputs.
The model will be available to X Premium+ subscribers initially, with advanced features like reasoning capabilities, DeepSearch, and unlimited image generation offered through a separate SuperGrok subscription. Musk also announced upcoming voice mode integration and the availability of Grok 3 models via xAI's API.
