ASUS has introduced the Chromebook CR series, specifically designed for K-12 students. These laptops are built to withstand daily challenges, featuring resistance to drops, spills, and impacts.

The CR series meets MIL-STD-810H military durability standards, ensuring reliability in tough school environments. Key features include rubber bumpers, spill-resistant keyboards, and touchscreens protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Available in 11.6-inch and 12.2-inch sizes, the series offers standard models with 180° hinge and convertible models (CR1104F and CR1204F) with 360° rotation for versatile use in laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes.

Powered by Intel N150 and N250 processors, the Chromebooks provide adequate performance for school tasks. The touchscreens support WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and USI 2.0 stylus for note-taking and drawing, while TÜV Rheinland certification helps reduce blue light for eye protection during prolonged use.

Connectivity options are extensive, featuring WiFi 6 and 6E support for faster internet access, with optional 4G LTE. The series supports up to 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, accommodating students' academic needs.

For enhanced participation in online classes, the Chromebooks include 720p HD or 1080p FHD front cameras, with some models offering a 13 MP rear camera in tablet mode. Built-in speakers and microphones ensure clear communication during online lessons and video calls.

The CR series boasts a variety of ports, including two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 1.4b, an audio jack, and a Kensington Lock slot. An optional stylus is available for note-taking and drawing.

ASUS has not yet disclosed pricing or release dates for the Chromebook CR series, but it is expected to be an affordable solution tailored for educational purposes.
