KGM, formerly SsangYong, is set to launch a new lineup of SUVs in Russia, emphasizing quality and reliability. The models include:
Tivoli, Korando, and Torres: All equipped with 1.5-liter gasoline engines producing 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Rexton: Features a 2.0-liter GSL engine delivering 225 hp and 350 Nm, also with a 6-speed automatic.
All vehicles are expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2025, aiming to capture a niche market amid competition from popular Chinese brands.
KGM assures customers of a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty and plans to establish strong after-sales support, including sufficient spare parts availability. The company is also negotiating local assembly agreements in Russia, indicating a commitment to long-term presence in the market.
Despite challenging market conditions, KGM aims to sell approximately 20,000 vehicles in the first year, targeting consumers loyal to established Korean brands.
