Denza Z9 GT: High-Performance EV Rival to Porsche Taycan

Denza, a brand owned by BYD, is set to introduce the Z9 GT, a high-performance electric shooting brake targeting Porsche Taycan buyers.

The Z9 GT features three electric motors generating 952 horsepower, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. It will be available in fully electric and plug-in hybrid variants.

The plug-in hybrid version combines a 2.0-liter turbo engine with three electric motors, boasting a 200 km electric range and a combined range of 1,100 km thanks to a 38.5 kWh battery.

In contrast, the fully electric version is equipped with a 100.1 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 630 km per charge, though these figures are based on the Chinese testing cycle.

Equipped with cameras instead of side mirrors, the Z9 GT displays images on two additional screens on the dashboard. Pricing in China ranges from €42,500 to €53,000, aiming to remain competitive in Europe despite higher import taxes.

Denza was founded in 2010 as a partnership between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, with BYD acquiring full ownership recently.
