Google Lens Enhances Visual Search with Voice Interaction and Video Understanding

On October 4, Google announced updates to its visual search tool, Google Lens, incorporating voice interaction and video understanding capabilities.

Users can now ask questions aloud about what they see through the camera, making exploration more natural and intuitive. This feature complements the ability to take photos and type questions.

Additionally, Google Lens can now interpret videos, allowing users to ask questions about elements within a video. Google's systems will analyze the video alongside the user's inquiry to provide an AI-generated summary and relevant online resources.

This video understanding feature is available globally on the Google app for both Android and iOS, while voice queries are currently limited to English.
