Harald Östberg Amundsen Triumphs in Kuusamo 20km Race

In a thrilling display of endurance and skill, Harald Östberg Amundsen emerged victorious in the 20-kilometer mass start race held in Kuusamo, Finland. The event showcased the dominance of Norwegian athletes, even in the absence of top contender Johannes Kläbo, who withdrew due to throat discomfort.

Amundsen's victory came after a fierce competition, particularly against fellow Norwegians Jan Thomas Jenssen and Martin Löwström Nyenget. The race concluded with Amundsen securing the top position in a nail-biting sprint finish, while Mika Vermeulen of Austria put up a commendable fight, finishing fourth.

The Swiss team struggled to keep pace with the frontrunners, with Valerio Grond being the best performer from Switzerland, finishing in 50th place, nearly two and a half minutes behind the leader. Other Swiss competitors, Janik Riebli, Cyril Fähndrich, and Beda Klee, trailed further behind in the rankings.

This event marks an exciting start to the season, highlighting the competitive spirit and the high level of performance in cross-country skiing.
