Severe snowfall has significantly impacted traffic conditions in the Ústí Region of the Czech Republic as of December 6, 2024. Authorities report that roads remain passable with caution, although many areas are covered with a thick layer of compacted snow. The D8 highway towards Germany was closed earlier today due to a traffic accident.

One of the most troublesome areas is the Šébr pass, which connects vehicles from the Šluknov region to the interior and Prague. Since early morning, trucks have struggled to ascend the pass, causing disruptions for other vehicles. Despite efforts, road maintenance crews have been unable to clear the compacted snow after several hours of work.

Similar conditions are reported on the road to Liberec between Ludvíkovice and Huntířov, where vehicles are delayed by several minutes due to the snow. A truck became stuck in this area this morning, prompting police to close the road completely around 10 AM for its recovery. Additionally, icy patches have formed on the roadway.

In Líska, heading towards the Šluknov region, ruts have developed on the road, while the route from Studánka to Varnsdorf was temporarily impassable.

The snowfall has also led to multiple incidents of fallen trees, with firefighters responding most frequently in Varnsdorf, as well as in Veselém and Kunraticích.

Traffic accidents have surged due to the weather, including a truck that got stuck and a vehicle overturned in Česká Kamenice. A bus accident occurred in Malá Velen shortly before 8:30 AM, resulting in road closures.

Additionally, a truck accident was reported in Ludvíkovice after 10 AM, and two personal vehicles collided in Růžová Street in Děčín shortly after 9 AM, fortunately without injuries.

The snow has also complicated public transportation, with some buses experiencing delays of over two hours, while others have delays ranging from several minutes to over an hour, particularly on major routes that have not been adequately treated throughout the morning.
